SA Open Returns to Stellenbosch Golf Club for 2027 as Prize Fund Rises to US$2 Million

The Investec South African Open will return to Stellenbosch Golf Club from 4 to 7 March 2027, with organisers confirming the 116th edition of the tournament will again be hosted in the Winelands after this year’s event at the same venue.

The 2027 prize fund rises to US$2 million, with the tournament continuing its partnership with the Sunshine Tour, the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour.

Local economic impact

This year’s tournament at Stellenbosch Golf Club is reported to have generated close to R300 million for the local economy, supported an estimated 400 jobs, and delivered around R1.1 billion in sponsorship value, figures that made the case for returning to the same venue in 2027 rather than rotating to a different course.

For Stellenbosch, hosting means another high-demand week for hotels, guesthouses, restaurants and wine farms across the town, on top of the direct economic activity the tournament itself generates. With the date now confirmed for March 2027, local hospitality businesses have a full season’s lead time to plan around it.
