JAN Franschhoek Returns to La Motte for Season V

JAN Franschhoek, Michelin-starred chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen’s dining experience at La Motte Wine Estate, reopens for its fifth season on 4 September 2026, running through to 30 April 2027.

The experience is hosted in the 18th-century Veepos cottage on the La Motte estate, seated around a single 18-seat communal table set among the property’s lavender fields. Van der Westhuizen’s menu is built around a South African family-table theme, drawing on global culinary trends while staying rooted in local ingredients.

Dinner service runs Wednesday to Saturday. Sundays shift to an extended lunch, with guests welcomed into the La Motte Manor House from 12:00 ahead of a 12:30 start. The experience costs R3,550 per person.

Reservations for September and October opened on Dineplan on 20 July, with bookings for the rest of the season opening on 1 September. Given the table’s size (just 18 seats a night) and the season’s popularity in previous years, spots tend to move quickly.
